CODE 1:
Class 12 students who are taking the qualifying exam in 2024—the 12th class—may apply and show up for the test; however, they will not be allowed to enroll in the Undergraduate Medical Course if, at the time of the first round of counseling, they do not receive the necessary passing percentage in the qualifying exam.
Applicants may also appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination if they have already taken the qualifying exam, which included English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their primary subjects, and they anticipate receiving the necessary percentage of marks to pass the exam.However, their application will only be taken into consideration if they can produce official documentation attesting to their passing the qualifying exam with the necessary topics and grade point average.
CODE 2:
After completing 12 years of study, including two years of coursework in physics, chemistry, biology, and biotechnology, candidates can sit for the Higher or Senior Secondary Examination, also known as the Indian School Certificate Examination, which is similar to the Class 12 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination. (which will involve hands-on assessments in these areas) & Mathematics or any other elective course that includes English that meets the requirements of the National Council of Educational Research and Training’s core syllabus following the implementation of the National Committee on Education’s suggested 10+2+3 Educational Structure.
Private candidates or Open School graduates who passed their 12th grade are not eligible to take the “National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.” Additionally, it will not be permissible for students in Class 12 to choose Biology or Biotechnology as an extra course.*
Students who passed their 12th grade with biology as an extra subject would also be qualified to take the MBBS entrance test (according to the 24th September 2019 Hon’ble High Court Order No. 2341/-W/DHC/WRIT/D-1/2019).
The applicants must present a certificate from the relevant Indian university or Association of Indian Universities if the Institute intends to accept Class 12 as comparable to the Class 12 examination of an Indian university or a foreign/university examination. As a result, the Intermediate Science Examination recognizes the exam he passed as being equivalent to Class 12.
The italicized proviso has been challenged before the Delhi High Court, the Allahabad High Court, the Lucknow Bench, and the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur. The criteria that excluded applicants from officially recognized Open School Boards and those who had taken biology or biotechnology as a second subject have been removed. Special Leave Petitions before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and appeals in the Hon’ble High Courts have been granted precedence by the Medical Council of India.
Thus, candidates who have passed the qualifying exam (Class 12 from the National Institute of Open Schooling or State Open Schools, or from recognized State Boards as private candidates) may run for NEET (UG) – 2024; alternatively, candidates may run with Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject, subject to the resolution of special leave petitions or appeals filed by the Medical Council of India.
CODE 3:
Intermediate (or Pre-Degree Examination in Science from an Indian University, Board, or other accredited examination organization) with English as a required subject and Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology (which will include practical exams in these disciplines).
CODE 4:
After passing the Higher Secondary Examination, Pre-University, or an equivalent exam, candidates may take the Pre-Professional (or) Pre-Medical Examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. English will be a required subject in the Preprofessional/Pre-Medical examination, which will also involve practical exams in these areas.
CODE 5:
If the exam is a university examination and the candidate has passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology, they must have passed the previous qualifying examination. The first year of a three-year degree program at an accredited university must include practical tests in these subjects. Biology and Biotechnology, with a minimum of one core English course.
CODE 6:
B.Sc. Examination from an Indian University, provided that the candidate has passed the previous qualifying exam, which included Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology), and Biotechnology, and that the candidate has passed the B.Sc. Examination with at least two of these subjects.
CODE 7:
Any alternative exam that meets the requirements of an Indian university for the Intermediate Science Examination—which covers the final two years of 10+2 coursework in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology and includes practical exams in these subjects—is found. / Board, completing practical exams in English and the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology.
