Age Limit of CTET 2023 Exam

CTET 2023 Educational Qualification

Each CTET exam consists of two papers:

Paper-I: Primary for Classes I through V

Paper II: For Students in Classes VI–VII (Elementary)

 

An applicant must appear in both Papers if they plan to teach Classes I through VIII.

Qualifications for Primary Stage Education for Classes 1 through 5

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% (50 percent) of the possible points, as well as having passed or be in the last year of a two-year elementary education diploma (OR).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% of the possible points and passing or intending to appear in the last year of the two-year Elementary Education Diploma programme in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002 (Alternatively)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% of the possible points, and passing or planning to appear in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) programme (OR)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% of the possible points, passed the 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*, or were in the last year of the programme (OR)

 

  • Completing graduation, successfully passing, or entering the final year of a two-year elementary education diploma. 
  • post-graduation or an equivalent grade with at least 55% of the possible points, plus three years of combined B.Ed.-M.Ed.

 

The educational requirements for classes 6 through 8 (elementary stage)

  • graduation and passing the 2-year Elementary Education Diploma programme, or being enrolled in its final year (OR)
  • Obtaining a minimum of 50% of the possible points at graduation and passing the one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme (OR)
  • a minimum of 45 percent on the graduation exam and passing or appearing in the 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) according to NCTE regulations OR a minimum of 50 percent on the Senior Secondary (or equivalent) exam and passing or appearing in the final year of the 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR a minimum of 50 percent on the Senior Secondary (or equivalent) exam and passing or appearing in the final year of the 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR
  • Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks, passing the 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*, or appearing in it OR Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks, or an equivalent grade, and a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.
  • Candidates who identify as SC, ST, OBC, or PH will have their qualifying scores relaxed by 5%.
  • Candidates enrolled in any teacher education programme that is approved by RCI or NCTE may take the CTET.

Reservation Requirements for CTET 2023

A 5% decrease in qualifying marks will be granted to candidates who fall into reserved groups such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Differently Abled.

CTET 2023: The Amount of Trys
