Toss Update:Â Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have chosen to bowl first against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 clash.
RCB captain Smriti Mandhana continued the trend of teams preferring to chase in this season’s WPL, citing the likelihood of dew later in the evening as a key factor in her decision.
Notably, the team batting second has won all three matches played so far in WPL 2025.
RCB made one change to their lineup, bringing in left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht in place of legspinner Prema Rawat,
who made her debut in the previous game against Gujarat Giants. Rawat had figures of 1 for 26 from two overs in that match.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals, despite losing the toss, received a significant boost with the return of their star overseas allrounders, Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen.
Both players missed the opening game due to illness but have now been reinstated in the XI.
They replace Alice Capsey and Niki Prasad, the Under-19 World Cup-winning India captain, who was the Player of the Match in DC’s previous game against Mumbai Indians.
With Kapp and Jonassen back, DC will field five overseas players, including Scotland’s wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce, an exception allowed in the WPL when an Associate player is part of the lineup.
The match is being played on the same pitch used last Sunday, where Gujarat Giants successfully chased down 144 against UP Warriorz with two overs to spare.
The ground dimensions remain consistent, with square boundaries measuring 58m and 50m, and the straight boundary at 70m.
